What it costs

How a merch activation budget comes together.

Activation pricing is quote-based because no two floors are the same. Here is exactly what moves the number so you can scope it with your client before you ever pick up the phone.

The line items

Five things that move the number.

01

Station count & type

One live DTF line is the baseline. Adding a hat bar, embroidery, or a second press line adds equipment and operators. More stations means more parallel throughput and a higher build.

02

Staffed hours

Crew is billed at $250 per hour and covers load-in, live operation, breaks, and teardown. A longer event or an early load-in adds hours before doors even open.

By the hour
03

Product & volume

Blanks price differently โ€” a Bella+Canvas tee, a Richardson 112 cap, a hoodie, and a hard good are not the same cost. Total pieces set the material spend.

Per piece
04

Artwork & prep

Preparing transfers, color-matching brand palettes, and building a clean guest menu happens before the event. Complex or multi-design programs carry more prep.

Pre-event
05

Travel & logistics

Local Southern California events carry no travel fee. Outside OC, LA, and SD a travel fee of about $900 applies, and freight or fly-in crews for nationwide programs are quoted per city.

Common questions

Budget FAQ.

How much does a merch activation cost?

Local staffed activations typically start around $5,000 and scale from there. The number is driven by how many stations you run, how many hours the crew is on site, which products you choose, and how many pieces you expect to give away.

Can you work to a fixed budget?

Yes. Tell us the ceiling and we will build the strongest station plan that fits โ€” usually by tuning station count, product mix, and staffed hours rather than cutting the experience.

What is the best next step?

Send the date, city, guest count, and target products. We will quote the specific station plan instead of guessing from a generic price table.
